Summer Camps at Avalon Music Academy! Do you know someone who belongs on stage? Someone who loves to sing, dance, and perform? Then Avalon Music Academy of Brantford’s camps are perfect for you! Winner of Best Summer Camps in the Brant News Readers Choice Awards three years running. Register early to avoid disappointment! We are offering: 1. Musical Theatre Camp: This performance-based camp is for those who like to act, sing, and dance – or all of the above! Participants will be given the opportunity to learn improvisation, to create their own scripts, and to develop their own characters. The camp also focuses on stage management and production. Musical Theatre Camp ends with a performance at the end of the week, which parents and friends are welcome to attend. Camp will run from July 9-13, 2018. 2. Broadway Basics Camp: This ensemble program will help participants take performance skills to the next level! This performance-based camp will tackle challenging and varied songs from popular musicals, with emphasis on improving vocal technique, harmonies, breath control, and musicality. While there will be a focus on ensemble performance, solos will also be available to those who are interested. Campers will learn important elements of stage performance and choreography, and will have the chance to put their own personal touches on stage performances. The week will conclude with a stage show that parents and friends are invited to attend. Camp will run from July 23-27, 2018. A background in music is NOT required for participation in any of Avalon Music Academy’s camps. All camps run from 8:30am-4:30pm. Cost is $199/week. Camp sizes are limited, and Avalon Music Academy’s camps fill very quickly. Enrolment will be on a fist-come, first serve basis. Campers are responsible for bringing a lunch, drinks and snacks. All camps are strictly nut-free. Camps are held at Braemar House School, at 36 Baxter Street in Brantford. Register by calling 519-756-9174, or e-mail d_dsouza@rogers.com. A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration. The balance is due on the first day of the camp. There are no refunds once camps have started.

Avalon Music Academy of Brantford is conducting a Christmas Donations Drive for families in need. We are seeking non-perishable food items, unopened toys, new clothing, books, hats & mitts, etc. There is a particular need this holiday season for gifts suitable for teens and pre-teens. Items such as hair dryers, video games, CDs, and gift cards would be appreciated. Donations will be picked up by Freedom Houses's The Kindness Project and distributed to families in need within our community. Please help if you are able to.
