While the browning in your lawn at this time of year may just be drought stress, the probability of a grub infestation could be quite high. To check, lift a piece of your turf. If grubs are the culprit, the dead patches will roll up like a carpet, or you'll be able to pull up the grass and see that it has no roots. You may also notice that birds, skunks and raccoons are digging at your turf in search of a meal of grubs. Beneficial Nematodes are the answer to your problem! Nematodes are small microscopic worms that when dispersed on a lawn, will seek out and enter the body of the grub, generally killing it within 48 hours. Upon completion of an application, the product should be watered in and kept moist for 3-5 days. If grub damage persists past 10 days following an application, a second nematode treatment may be required. Looking for more information? Call our office today! We would be happy to help.
