We LOVE being a part of our community and helping in any way that we can. Our summer fundraiser "Cupcake Day" in support of the SPCA was a huge success this year! Thank you to everyone that came out to purchase cupcakes, or dropped off donations. Our hearts are full!
So what is the difference? Mobility: the ability of a joint to move ACTIVELY through a range of motion Strength: how much force a muscle can produce Flexibility: the ability of a muscle or muscle groups to lengthen PASSIVELY through a range of motion While being flexible is impressive, having good mobility and strength proves to be more beneficial when it comes to your ADL's (activities of daily living).

A good test you can do on your own is this:
Lay on your back and lift your leg straight up into the air as high as you can before your knee begins to bend. This exercise is called a straight leg raise. Doing this will show you your MOBILITY. Now, with your leg straight in the air, place your hands behind your knees or on your calf muscle and see if you can bring your leg back anymore. This assisted movement will show you your FLEXIBILITY. Your muscles need to have good STRENGTH in order to lower your leg back down to the starting position with control.
You have benefits and you've never used them??? THATS MADNESS!! But, you're checking out our page, seeing what a great (and fun) health and wellness team we are, and now we've got you thinking... 🤔 "I should probably investigate my benefits to find out if they cover massage/physio. While I'm on the phone/in the app, I'll check and see how much coverage I get per visit/per year. Ya, you know what? Lets book my appointment!" Now you're talkin'!
Did you know that Kneaded Care is a multidisciplinary clinic? We have a wonderful team of massage therapists and physiotherapists who all come with their specific niche or "specialty".
We love to share knowledge beween #teamRMT and #teamPT because in the end, the teams share clients and the clients' best interest is always our number one priority.
The RMTs recently got a lesson from David on using K-Tape and leuko/hypa fix tape. Taping is a great way to provide stability, decrease inflammation, or provide biofeedback to a specific area.
