Cross Connection Backflow Prevention
-
Prepare to write the American Water Works Association (OWWA) “Cross Connection Control Specialist” certification exam (administered at the end of the course).
-
Focus on backflow causes and control, cross connection, hazard classification and control and maintenance and testing procedures.
-
Students who successfully complete this program will receive three point five (3.5) Ministry of the Environment, Director-Approved, Continuing Education Units.
Cross Connection Recertification
-
Starting January 1, 2012, the Ontario Water Works Association (OWWA) will require recertification for backflow testers after five years from date of certification.
-
If you had received certification prior to January 1, 2012 you will be required to attend a 16 hour seminar and pass the examination in order to retain your certificate as a “Backflow/Cross Connection Control Tester”.
-
Students who successfully complete this program will receive one point four (1.4) Ministry of the Environment, Director-Approved, Continuing Education Units.
