Born and raised in Brantford, Dennis was intrigued with eyewear from an early age. His lifelong interest in Opticianry was inspired by his father, Bill Dickens, who with Alf Clark started Avenue Optical in 1968.
After becoming licensed by The College of Opticians of Ontario in 1981, Dennis joined the company full-time, and over the years, he has amassed an impressive 50 years of experience in the optical industry.

Wow, the world is such a different place than it was six months ago! I hope you are adapting to the new way we have to do the things that we took for granted, not so long ago. There have been some changes at Avenue Optical too.
First, to keep everyone safe, face coverings are mandatory when entering the frame gallery. Next, we have to do this by appointment (sounds so clinical). It's just an agreed upon time to get together. Another change is the office hours. I am available from 9 AM to 9 PM Monday to Saturday for your private shopping... more
