It's important to take care of your body, and listen to what your body needs. This is a busy time of year and can make most of us feel more anxious, more tired, more stressed. Start your day off right, and set yourself up on the right foot (or left, whatever works!)
Remember, you can only do what you can do, we all have the same 24... more

Caution! The combination of laughter with massage therapy could leave you feeling happier, relaxed, and better about yourself! When I come out of my treatment room, I usually get asked “Were you treating someone or hosting a comedy club in there?" To that I say laughter is the best medicine, massage is a close second. A laugh can brighten a day. It can snowball a positive reaction on your mental health, but did you know it can help your physical health too? A good laugh has great short-term effects. When you start to... more

Here's your incentive for today!
Walk the walk!
It's a mental and physical superpower. Prioritize walks, as often as possible.
Walking is always time well spent. Most people need to do way more of it, for many reasons:
Walking gets you up and moving, contributing to your daily activity and offsetting the sedentary lifestyles and work environments that many of us are stuck in
Walking clears the mind. It allows you to literally step away from the constant stimulus of screens,... more

No Brain, No Pain.. What does that even mean??? Well, it's ultimately your brain that tells you that you have pain. Your tissues, regardless of their health, provides information. Your spinal cord and your brain take in the information and the output is pain if the brain perceives a threat. Anytime a threat is perceived, your brain is trying to protect you. That's ultimately why pain is a good thing, it keeps us safe. So, if it's my brain, does that mean it's not real? Pain is real, 100% of the time. It just doesn't... more

I AM NOT IN PAIN ANYMORE WHY DO I NEED TO CONTINUE TO GO TO PHYSIO?
On average, 20 percent of physiotherapy clients in Canada stop attending physiotherapy sessions after 3 sessions mainly due to relief of their symptoms. In many cases a lack of knowledge and self-management strategies can bring you back to square one.
This is where the Plan of Care comes in! The plan of care is a comprehensive resource that you will fill out with your physiotherapist during your assessment that details the steps necessary to... more

Asking for help is ok!
Last week, the Kneaded Care team had the opportunity to meet (VIA Zoom) with Rebecca Suprun from @mindfulpathcounselling. Rebecca was helpful in discussing health care worker burnout and how to take time for ourselves. She helped us recognize the importance of self care, and what self care can look like (food, exercise, journaling, music etc).
Rebecca has inspired our team to take part in a 30 Day Self Care Challenge. There's no doubt that these past 1.5 years has been a roller... more

15 year recap
Wow, what a month September has been! Our 15-year recap sure brought on many smiles, laughs and a few tears. So much has happened, from team and clinic growth to recession and COVID rebuild. I wouldn't change one thing. My saying has always been, with change comes growth. As difficult as some years have been, a smile sneaks up on my face because we are still here, and the good times far outweigh the bad. We are fighters and plan to be here another 15+.
As I look at all the wonderful posts that Bayleigh and... more
